NordicTrack X24 Treadmill Review - Next Generation Incline Trainer

The NordicTrack X24 is one of two brand new treadmill offerings from the company, joining the step-down X16 as part of the next generation Incline Trainer series.

These treadmills are quite unique in the fact that you have significant incline as well as decline capability, something you just don't find with other companies. So if you're a serious runner, this might be the best choice for you.

Let's take a closer look at the X24 to see what it's all about...

X24 - The Machine

The NordicTrack X24 is solidly built, angled and all black, following the same form as their recently redesigned Commercial Series. One of the most noticeable upgrades is the pivoting touchscreen, giving you much more flexibility as far as viewing angles.

The Buzz

Of all of the home treadmill companies NordicTrack definitely changes up their lineup most often. This is typically a good thing, as just like with new cars these new machines often incorporate the newest and latest technology, enhancing your workout experience.

The new NordicTrack X24 (along with the new X16), seem to do just that. As far as styling, they now have the same modern/sleek feel as the Commercial Series models...all black with the angled arms.

The new models retain the industry leading 40% incline and 6% decline capability, but add the pivoting touch screens that the previous incline trainers were missing. The X24 has a 24" screen, and it pivots so you can do iFit workouts off the machine as well without struggling to see the console.

It comes with a stronger 4.25 CHP motor (a step up from the 4.0 CHP motor on the X22i) and speeds up to 12 mph like the previous models. Smart Adjust technology automatically adjusts the incline and speed of the treadmill to match your ability.

As with all NordicTrack equipment, the X24 comes with iFit, an immersive workout program exclusive to NordicTrack and ProForm. This is a monthly or yearly membership, and gives you access to an endless library of workouts on and off the machine, plus tracking, sharing, AI coach and much more.

iFit is a great motivational tool, as you can make each workout as challenging as you want to, and choose virtual workout locations anywhere in the world. They used to give you a month or more for free to try it out...now they just give you discounts on the program. Either way, it's definitely worth it.

Other than the incline/decline and unlimited iFit workouts, you get the new SpringFlex cushioning to absorb impact, large 22 x 60 inch deck, Autobreeze fans, Bluetooth and USB charging ports, among other great features.

How Does the NordicTrack X24 Compare to the Treadmills?

iFit Coach With Tracking & Streaming

There are currently only two NordicTrack Incline Trainers on the market: the X16 and the X24. (The X22i and X32i were recently discontinued)

The only real difference between the two is the size of the touchscreen...16" on the X16 and 24" on the X24.

Both models have 40% incline capability and 6% decline capability, 4.25 CHP motors, 0-12 mph speed and 22" x 60" belts.

The Commercial Series treadmills (1250, 1750 & 2450) don't have the same incline/decline capability. You get up to 12% incline and 3% decline. They are also foldable for easy storage...the Incline Trainers don't fold.

The EXP Series treadmills are more entry level/less durable than the Commercial Series & Incline Trainers. There's no decline, smaller motors, lower top speeds and smaller deck sizes.

NordicTrack X24 Review - Bottom Line

Overall the new NordicTrack X24 is looking good. We like the fact that they added the pivoting console like they have on the Commercial Series, allowing you to work out off the machine as well.

You get a huge 24" touch screen, up to 40% of inline and 6% of decline, something you don't find anywhere else. You get a large cushioned deck, over 10,000 iFit workouts, syncing capability and a whole lot more.

Yes, the X24 is expensive but you get a lot of features and capabilities here. If you want to save a bit, take a look at the Commercial Series as well...equally solid treadmills at a more affordable price.
