The Golds Gym 720 is one of the most popular treadmills from the company, and one of the few available for just under $500 when it's on sale. Although it's not the best machine out there, it's OK for those who just want a basic workout to get into shape and lose a little weight.
The 720 has a large, multi-window LED display showing your speed, heart rate, distance, time, calories and incline as well as touch button controls for various functions.
Let's take a look at the specs...

There is very little competition in the sub-$500 market these days, although it remains a very popular segment for obvious reasons. Besides Gold's Gym you have Weslo (another ICON Fitness brand), Sunny Health & Fitness, Confidence and a few other brands.
It's very hard to make a high quality treadmill at this price level, as there are so many different parts involved. Gold's does a decent job, and the many positive reviews out there reflect this fact.
The 720 is probably the most popular treadmill in Gold's lineup, and it has pretty good features.
You have 18 workout programs, a nice clean display, incline capability and cushioning. The company does not indicate the horsepower of the engine, but it is probably in the 2-2.5 hp range.
It has a music port for an iPod, space saver design, a decently sized 20" x 55" running deck, and a workout fan.
The warranty on the Golds Gym 720 is not bad, and includes lifetime coverage on the frame and 25 years on the motor. Still, you might want to opt for a 2 or 3 year protection plan to cover yourself in case anything happens.
All in all, this is a decent treadmill...perfectly fine for regular, light usage and to help you reach your fitness goals.
The 720 is probably the best of all of the current Golds Gym treadmills, and offers a lot given the price tag. Also take a look at the Horizon T101, which is a much better value and only a $100 more. It is one of our Best Buy models.
We would always advise to spend a little bit more and get a better machine, but if you have to stay under $500, the 720 is not a bad choice at all. Again, definitely consider a protection plan that will cost $30 or $40 if you do opt for the 720...it's well worth it.
