The Epic View 550 Treadmill – One of the Best TV Models

The Epic View 550 treadmill is The TV Model that competitors do not want you to know about. It has everything: styling, outstanding programming and entertainment features, heavy duty motor and rollers, impact reducing cushioning, large running area, a 12% incline -- we mean everything. It’s no wonder that treadmill reviewers have included the Epic View 550 on Best Buy lists in leading consumer magazines.

The Machine

At $1299 (MSRP: $1999), the Epic View 550 treadmill is one of the best and most affordable TV treadmill designs around. While the TV is on, you can watch your favorite shows yet have your workout stats appearing right under the screen (or turn them off).

With the TV in the off mode, the screen displays your workout graphically, including a multi-color intensity profile. The full list of features of the Epic View 550 includes:

The Buzz

UPDATE: EPIC treadmills are no longer being manufactured or sold.  Check out our NordicTrack treadmill reviews to find a comparable model.

Experts and trainers find a lot of exciting things to talk about in the Epic View 550. The stunning list of features above represents a treadmill costing much more, about $2000 to $3000, yet the usual sale price on this model is around $1299.

The parts/labor warranty is the only weak issue that stands out on the list above, yet that can be easily remedied with the purchase of an extended warranty. That doesn’t add much to the price since with Free Shipping you are already saving about $150.

Owners are in love with the quality, features, power, low noise level, and large walking area on this machine. Treadmill reviews give it some of the highest ratings we’ve seen for a mid-priced treadmill for 2008.

What We Say

Love the side profile! If it didn’t say EPIC down the side of the console support column, you’d think it was one of those $5800 Matrix commercial treadmills you’d see at a health club.

So give it a big plus for exceptional styling, in addition to just about everything else on it. And while we haven’t been a fan of 85% of the TV treadmills manufactured over the past few years, or some products made by ICON, the Epic View 550 treadmill is going to make us eat our words. This is an exciting, solid, affordable machine.
